How to switch from ClockShark

1. Get your data out of ClockShark

  1. Download your time records. Go to Reports, then CSV Export, select a date range and click Download CSV. Each row is one shift, with the employee name and email address, the start and end times, and the regular time and overtime minutes. Source
  2. For a copy that you can print, run a Summary or Details report and click Download. The Details report gives the clock-in and clock-out times of each shift as a PDF or CSV file. Source

2. Set up StampShift

  1. Create your company and choose a plan. The Free plan needs no card. A paid plan starts with a 14-day trial, and you add a payment method.
  2. Set your company timezone and the first day of your workweek in Settings. A new company starts on Eastern Time.
  3. Add your job sites as work sites. Type the address or use your current location, then set the geofence radius. Work sites per plan: Free has 1, Starter has 10 and Growth and up have no limit.
  4. Invite your team. Upload a CSV or Excel file of email addresses on the invite page, or share your company code. Each employee creates their own account.
  5. Start clocking in with StampShift on the first day of a workweek. StampShift counts weekly overtime from its own hours only, so a start in the middle of a week leaves out the hours from earlier that week.
  6. At the end of the pay period, export the hours in the format your payroll provider takes.

StampShift does not import past timesheets. Keep the files you downloaded from ClockShark for your records.

3. Cancel ClockShark

Cancel on the ClockShark website: go to Admin, then Billing & Payment, then Cancel Subscription. ClockShark says that you keep access to the end of the billing cycle, that it keeps your data for 30 days after you cancel, and that it deletes all your data after those days. In those 30 days, you can ask ClockShark for a CSV file of all your data. Source

Yearly cost at 10, 50 and 100 users

Frequently asked questions

Can I move my ClockShark time history into StampShift?

No. StampShift does not import past timesheets. Download the ClockShark CSV Export before you cancel, and keep it for your records.

How long does ClockShark keep my data after I cancel?

ClockShark says that it keeps your data for 30 days after you cancel and deletes it after those days. In those 30 days, you can ask ClockShark for a CSV file of all your data. Download your reports before you cancel, so that you do not depend on that request.

Can I use my ClockShark export to invite my team to StampShift?

Usually. The ClockShark CSV Export has the employee email address on each row. The StampShift invite page reads the email column of the file, and adds each address one time. If no heading contains "email", copy the addresses into a new file with an "email" column. The export has only the employees who worked a shift in its date range.

What about my ClockShark contract term?

ClockShark states that a 3-year contract term applies to all of its plans. Read your ClockShark agreement for the end date of your term before you cancel.

Do my employees need to download an app?

No. Employees clock in from the browser on their phone, and can add StampShift to the home screen. Native iOS and Android apps are in development.

Can I use StampShift and ClockShark at the same time while I switch?

Yes. You do not need to cancel ClockShark before you set up StampShift. You can run both for one pay period and compare the hours.

Pricing as of October 3, 2026

ClockShark lists one rate per plan, with no monthly or annual option. The prices are that rate, before add-ons and taxes.

StampShift prices are 12 times the monthly price. An annual StampShift plan covers 14 months for that price, so the table shows StampShift at more than its real yearly cost.

StampShift is not affiliated with ClockShark. Product names belong to their owners.
