Why teams leave Workyard

  • A geofenced clock-in needs Workyard Pro, and Workyard does not publish a price for Pro. You must ask Workyard for a quote. Source
  • The price goes up with each user. Workyard Starter is $6 per user per month, billed annually. At 50 users, that is $3,600 per year, with no geofenced clock-in. Source

What to check in an alternative

Ask each app these questions. StampShift does not win every one.

How to switch from Workyard

1. Get your data out of Workyard

  1. Download your time cards. On a computer, go to the Time Cards page, click Download Reports and select a report type. The Time Cards (Detail) report gives the clock-in, clock-out and break times, the total hours, the mileage and travel time, and the notes of each time card. Workyard gives its reports as PDF and spreadsheet files. Source
  2. For the time on each project and cost code, select Project & Cost Code Time (Detail) in the same Download Report dialog. Workyard gives this report as a CSV or PDF file. Source

2. Set up StampShift

  1. Create your company and choose a plan. The Free plan needs no card. A paid plan starts with a 14-day trial, and you add a payment method.
  2. Set your company timezone and the first day of your workweek in Settings. A new company starts on Eastern Time.
  3. Add your job sites as work sites. Type the address or use your current location, then set the geofence radius. Work sites per plan: Free has 1, Starter has 10 and Growth and up have no limit.
  4. Invite your team. Upload a CSV or Excel file of email addresses on the invite page, or share your company code. Each employee creates their own account.
  5. Start clocking in with StampShift on the first day of a workweek. StampShift counts weekly overtime from its own hours only, so a start in the middle of a week leaves out the hours from earlier that week.
  6. At the end of the pay period, export the hours in the format your payroll provider takes.

StampShift does not import past timesheets. Keep the files you downloaded from Workyard for your records.

3. Cancel Workyard

Cancel on the Workyard website, on a computer: go to Settings, then Plans & Billing. The same Workyard page says that you can pause your subscription instead. It does not say how long you keep access, or how long Workyard keeps your data, after you cancel. Source

Yearly cost at 10, 50 and 100 users

Each StampShift row uses the cheapest StampShift plan with geofencing. Workyard does not publish a price for Pro, so its column shows Workyard Starter, the lowest Workyard price. Workyard Starter does not restrict clock-in to a geofence.

Frequently asked questions

Can I move my Workyard time history into StampShift?

No. StampShift does not import past timesheets. Download your Workyard time card and project reports before you cancel, and keep them for your records.

What happens to my Workyard data after I cancel?

The Workyard cancel page does not say how long you keep access or how long Workyard keeps your data. Download your reports before you cancel. If you need to know, ask Workyard support before you cancel.

Can I use my Workyard team list to invite my team to StampShift?

Not directly. We found no export of the team list in the Workyard help pages. The profile of each team member in Workyard shows the email address. Copy the addresses into a file with an "email" column, and upload it on the StampShift invite page. Or share your StampShift company code, and each employee creates an account with it.

Can I keep tracking time by project and cost code?

By project, yes (Business plan and up). StampShift has no cost codes. Keep your Workyard project and cost code reports for your records.

Do my employees need to download an app?

No. Employees clock in from the browser on their phone, and can add StampShift to the home screen. Native iOS and Android apps are in development.

Can I use StampShift and Workyard at the same time while I switch?

Yes. You do not need to cancel Workyard before you set up StampShift. You can run both for one pay period and compare the hours.

Pricing as of October 3, 2026

Workyard does not publish a price for its Pro plan. The Workyard column shows Workyard Starter. Workyard prices are the annual-billing rates on its public pricing page, before add-ons and taxes.

StampShift prices are 12 times the monthly price. An annual StampShift plan covers 14 months for that price, so the table shows StampShift at more than its real yearly cost.

StampShift is not affiliated with Workyard. Product names belong to their owners.
